Custom Foam Signs (also known as Foam Core) are lightweight, rigid, and easily transportable. Ideal for interior use, these foam poster signs feature a smooth surface that delivers high-quality custom printed images. Our large foam board signs are printed directly on the material in full color using UV inks for long-lasting, durable graphics. Options for easel backs and lamination are available.

Hinged & Folded Shipping Option

Shipping costs are rising, so by folding the shipping costs are reduced dramatically. We cut the check halfway through on the backside to allow it to fold. We supply a piece of white masking tape to apply to the back of your check in order to keep it open when in use.

Foam Material

Foam board, also known as Foam Core, features a lightweight, rigid structure with a foam core sandwiched between two layers of white-coated paper. It has a semi-glossy appearance but should be kept away from high humidity or moisture to prevent damage.

  • Portrait: 46" wide x 57.5" tall
  • Horizontal: 57.5" wide x 46" tall

Custom Printed Foam Board Signs Options Explained

Size & Shipping Options:

• 57.5" x 46" Hinged & Folded: Size of the sign will be reduced to 57.5" x 46" and hinged on the back and folded to fit in a smaller box to save on the shipping costs
• 60" x 48" Hinged & Folded: Size of the sign will be full size at 60" x 48" and hinged on the back and folded to fit into a ship-able box, shipping rates are more expensive for this choice.
• 60" x 48" Flat for Pick Up: Size of the sign will be full size at 60" x 48", this can only be picked up at our Manchester, CT location. 

Coating

• No Coating: No coating added
• Add Premium Gloss / Dry Erase Coating: A premium lamination will be added over the top of the board, it will have a glossy appearance and can be used with dry erase markers

Orientation of the file

• 48x60 Portrait: Sign will be 48" wide x 60" tall
• 60x48 Horizontal: Sign will be 60" wide x 48" tall

Single Sided or Double Sided

• Single Sided Print: Full color print on one side, the back side of the board will be white
• Double Sided Print: Full color print on both sides of the board

Care & Use of the Foam Board Signs

Foam board signs are best for indoor use and should be handled with care to avoid damage. Do not expose to moisture or high humidity.

Do not wash or wet signs

• If you have a lamination then you can wipe it with a damp cloth on the laminated side only, being very careful to not get any moisture on the edges.

Not meant for wet or damp areas

• Foam board will absorb any moisture in the environment causing the sign to warp, bulge, discolor, or even tear.

Handle with extra care

• Foam Board easily damages, especially the corners
• If the corners dent and your design allows for removal of some part of the sign then you can use a sharp razor to slice off the damaged section. We suggest using a straight edge and cut into multiple small depths with the blade on a slight angle to the face of the board.
• Avoid dropping or placing any objects on top of the Foam Signs as it will leave dents or imprints on the signs.

Placing your order online for a Foam Core Sign

Order is placed: We will email you an order confirmation and your customer representative will be in touch during normal business hours.

Email proof: Our graphics department will send you a proof via email

Proof Approval: All proofs will need to be approved by you before printing

Printing: Once approved the order will move to production where printing will start

Boxing: When printing is complete your order will be boxed up and prepared for shipping

Shipped: Your order will be picked up by the shipper at the end of the business day. We ship Monday - Friday, with the exception of holidays.

Tracking: When your order is scanned in you will receive an email from us with the tracking and expected delivery date.

What are Foam boards made of?

How long can I use my Foam Board Sign?

• Suitable for one-time events but can last longer with proper care.

Is Foam board durable?

• Delicate and easily damaged; best for short-term use.

Can I use my Foam board outside?

• Not recommended due to moisture absorption. Consider Corrugated Plastic, PVC, or Aluminum signs for outdoor use.

Can I custom cut or die cut my Foam board sign?

Should I laminate my Foam Board Sign?

• Most people don't laminate Foam board signs since it's a short-term sign, however, we do offer gloss lamination.

Will Dry Erase Markers stain the dry erase lamination?

• High-quality lamination prevents staining, but wipe markers off promptly.

Is the graphic mounted to the Foam sign material?

• No, we print directly onto the foam board with UV inks.

Will my graphic peel away over time?

• Since we print direct to material none of the graphic will peel off the board unlike mounted prints.

Can I make my Foam Sign double sided?

• Yes, select double-sided printing during order placement.

I need my Foam Sign quickly!

• We specialize in quick turnarounds with in-house printing.

How many colors or details can I use in my artwork, will it cost extra?

• You can use any number of colors or any amount of detail in your artwork without incurring any additional fees. We print our Boards in full color and no matter how many colors or how detailed the artwork is, it won't affect the cost of the sign.

What color profile should I use in my artwork?

• We accept CMYK, RGB, Mixed, and Pantone colors. We use a 4-color process, and each color profile will be converted to meet the original coloring as closely as possible. 

When will I get a proof?

• Typically within 1-2 hours during business hours.

How can I get artwork set up?

• Use our free design online program with editable templates and custom options.

What if I realize the proof was wrong after approval?

• Contact us immediately to try and halt production.
